Pantai Kamloon Recreational Park, Kepala Batas at the fringe of mainland Penang is situated along the North South Highway. If you are travelling from Penang to Kedah, you will noticed this park. It has not been officially opened. Birds are aplenty and fishing enthusiasts were seen.
To go there : Click the map below our Malaysian flag. Use the north south highway and exit at Kepala Batas tol. Turn right after the tol. There is a traffic light at the town center. Turn right and continue until you join the main north-south trunk road. Head north. You will see a sign pointing to Pantai Kamloon. Follow it.

Taman Rekreasi Pantai Kamloon
I was delighted to find out about the Taman Rekreasi Pantai Kamloon near Kepala Batas, Penang. Following the signboards from the old trunk road between Butterworth and Sungai Petani, I made a visit but was rather disappointing due to the following reason:
1. The place is not staffed (at least when I was there) and as such will be prone to vandalism.
2. As it is not staffed, it does not feel safe venturing into the park as it is quite isolated.
3. There are insufficient signboards within the park and even the buildings are not labeled.
4. There are signs of poor maintenance like overgrown grass, broken window panes, graffiti, etc.
It is hoped that the relevant authorities will consider the following:
1. Have the park staffed for the safety of visitors and to stop vandals dirtying the place.
2. Have a visitor centre to educate visitors on the ecology of the wetland environment.
3. Have more regular maintenance of this place and clean out the obscene gravity.
4. Have more publicity about this park. There should be signboards directing people to this park from the PLUS highway.
Properly maintained and managed, I am sure Taman Rekreasi Pantai Kamloon will become an enjoyable recreation destination for Kepala Batas and the surrounding areas.
